This studentship has been created to support talented UK-domiciled undergraduate students into postgraduate research through a dedicated funding route.

- Full tuition fees covered for both master’s and PhD study.
- Annual UKRI maintenance stipend of £19,237 for both stages of study (2024/25 rate).
- Additional doctoral training support grant available during the PhD phase.

To be considered for this studentship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a UK-domiciled applicant who qualifies for home fee status.
- Hold - or expect to achieve - a First Class or Upper Second Class UK honours degree (or equivalent).
- Show strong potential for academic research and a meaningful contribution to your field, as well as to the thematic priorities of Alliance Manchester Business School. This might include:
- undergraduate research projects or dissertations;
- placements or internships;
- contributions to articles or publications;
- public engagement or research communication activities;
- prizes or awards for previous work;
- collaborations you’ve set up with external groups or organisations.
1. Choose your PhD programme in AMBS

2. Prepare a research proposal

3. Find your supervisor

4. Complete your online application
Complete your application for your chosen programme by the stated deadline.
Specify in the funding section of your PhD application form that you wish to be considered for the 1+4 AMBS Home Studentship.
5. Nomination of master's degree
If successful for your formal academic offer, your lead supervisor will nominate the master's programme. Eligible candidates will be put forward to the final interview for the award with the research division coordinator.

- Receive formal offer: 30 April 2025
- Funding interview decisions: 23 May 2025
